The shipping options you’ll see, compared
AliExpress is a marketplace, so the options vary by seller, item and destination. The ranges below come from a China fulfilment company’s 2026 guide, SendFromChina, and are planning ranges, not promises. Your checkout page is the number that counts.
| Option | Typical wait (vendor’s range) | Tracking | Cost | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Local warehouse (“ships from” your country) | About 3 to 10 business days | Usually end to end | Varies | Urgent orders, when the stock really is local |
| Choice delivery | About 5 to 15 business days in supported major markets | Usually end to end | Free or low cost when eligible | Buyers who want a clearer delivery commitment |
| AliExpress Standard Shipping | About 10 to 45 days | Usually end to end, though scans can pause | Free or affordable | Most ordinary purchases |
| Postal routes | About 15 to 45 days | Usually trackable | Low to medium | Basic visibility at low cost |
| Saver or economy shipping | About 30 to 60 days, sometimes longer | Partial or limited | Free or very low | Cheap items where the date doesn’t matter |
| Premium or express courier | About 5 to 14 days | Detailed | High | Urgent or valuable orders |
| “Seller’s shipping method” | Can’t be predicted from the name | Varies | Varies | Only when the carrier is named and recent reviews back it |
Two cautions. These ranges start at dispatch, and sellers add handling time first. And the vendor is a logistics business, not AliExpress, so treat the ranges as a guide only.
What AliExpress itself promises
AliExpress’s own commitment page states these terms. Check the current wording on the page, because AliExpress says the timelines may change with logistics conditions.
- Free shipping over $10 on Choice items.
- “Fast Delivery” label. Items with this label on the detail page are assured to arrive by the estimated delivery date. If they don’t, AliExpress lists compensation such as a coupon after 48 hours past the latest estimate, a refund for a package marked lost in transit, and a refund if it isn’t delivered after 30 days from shipment.
- No label. For items without the label, if the order hasn’t arrived within 60, 75, 90 or 120 days of shipment, depending on the delivery conditions shown, you can apply for a refund and keep the item.
- Exceptions. AliExpress says it may not be liable for delays from natural disasters, wars, strikes or other events beyond its control.

How to choose in 30 seconds
| Your situation | Choose | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|
| Need it within about two weeks | A “Fast Delivery” label, local stock or a courier option | “Ships from” your country must be shown for your variant. Read recent reviews confirming local delivery. |
| Can wait a month, want visibility | Standard shipping with tracking | Scans can pause for days. That isn’t proof the parcel is lost. |
| Cheap item, no deadline | Economy, if the total is lower | Longer waits and partial tracking. Compare the full total, since free shipping isn’t always cheaper. |
| Expensive or fragile item | The option with the fullest tracking | Check the delivery date, and buy from a store you’ve checked. How to judge a seller. |
| Battery, liquid or unusual item | Whatever route the listing offers for it | Some products have carrier restrictions. Message the seller before paying if the route isn’t clear. |
Why the estimate is longer than the transit time
- Seller handling. Time to pick, pack and dispatch. The vendor says sellers can take a few days.
- Export processing. The parcel moves through origin-country logistics.
- International transit. By air, sea or rail, and tracking may go quiet.
- Import and last mile. Customs and local delivery. A parcel can show as arrived in your country and still take days to reach you.
If you have a deadline, plan around the later date, not the earliest.
Shipping cost is not the whole cost
Compare the full checkout total, not just the shipping line. One listing may show a higher product price with free shipping, and another a lower price with a shipping fee. Import charges are separate. Depending on your country, duty, VAT or sales tax, or a carrier handling fee may apply. See our country guides: USA, UK, Canada and Australia.
Tracking: what to do when it stops
- Find the tracking number under the order details. It is different from the order number.
- Check the last scan and compare it with the delivery range for your option.
- Paste the number into a global tracker such as 17track, which AliExpress’s own help centre mentions, and later into your local carrier’s site.
- Message the seller and ask whether the parcel has been handed to the next carrier.
- Save screenshots, and open a dispute before the protection deadline if the date passes. Don’t wait until the last day.
Economy routes may not scan at every handoff. A quiet page is frustrating, but by itself it isn’t proof the parcel is lost.
More than one parcel or tracking number
Different sellers or warehouses ship separately, so an order with items from several stores will usually arrive as several parcels. The vendor notes that combined delivery may also group eligible parcels, and that multiple tracking numbers don’t automatically mean a mistake. Track each parcel and its estimate separately.
Before you pay: shipping checklist
- ☐ I’ve selected my exact variant, because shipping options can change with it.
- ☐ I’ve read the delivery date shown for my address, not a general average.
- ☐ I know if the item has a “Fast Delivery” label, and what the deadline means.
- ☐ I’ve compared the full total, including shipping.
- ☐ I’ve checked what import charges may apply in my country.
- ☐ I’ve checked recent reviews mentioning delivery, and the store. Red flags.
- ☐ For a time-sensitive item, I’ve added a buffer beyond the estimate.

Frequently asked questions
Which AliExpress shipping method is fastest?
Courier options and local-warehouse stock are usually the fastest. The vendor guide gives about 5 to 14 days for premium or express and about 3 to 10 business days for local stock. Your checkout date is what to rely on.
Is free shipping on AliExpress really free?
The shipping line may be free, but the item price can be higher and import charges are separate. Compare the full checkout total. AliExpress says shipping is free over $10 on Choice items.
What does the Fast Delivery label mean?
AliExpress says items with this label are assured to arrive by the estimated delivery date, and it lists compensation if they don’t. Read the current terms on its commitment page.
Why is my tracking not updating?
Economy and long-haul legs may not scan at every stage. Compare the last scan with the delivery range, try a global tracker, message the seller and save screenshots. Open a dispute before your protection deadline if the date passes.
Can I change the shipping method after ordering?
The vendor guide says it depends on the order status and seller, and that you shouldn’t assume it’s possible after dispatch. Confirm the option before you pay.
The bottom line
Match the shipping option to your deadline, read the date shown for your address, and compare the full total including import charges. Pay for speed only when you need it, look for the Fast Delivery label on time-sensitive orders, and keep your evidence if the parcel runs late.
