What AliExpress Choice actually is
People search for a “Choice store” expecting one storefront. Choice is a programme. Alibaba describes it as a hybrid of the marketplace and direct-sales models: sellers focus on making products, while AliExpress takes care of pricing, delivery and after-sales service. It launched on 1 March 2023, and it shows up as a tab on the AliExpress homepage and in the app.
Two things follow. The Choice label sits on the item, and the promises come from AliExpress rather than from the individual seller. A store that merely has “Choice” in its name hasn’t earned those promises by that fact alone, so confirm the label on the item page. And Choice is a delivery and service label. Refundy notes it says nothing about whether the product itself is good, so it doesn’t replace checking the seller.

Choice terms are not always what buyers see. These differences are worth knowing before you rely on them.

The trade-offs to weigh
- Price. A recent comparison cited by Refundy found Choice listings averaging about 17% above identical non-Choice listings, in a range of roughly 10% to 25%. We haven’t tested this, so treat it as an estimate and compare your item directly.
- Selection. Refundy says only suppliers that place stock in AliExpress fulfilment appear in Choice, so niche sellers may be missing and you may see a generic substitute. Check that the item is really the same, not just the title.
- Cashback. If you use a cashback service, Refundy says rates on Choice items are usually lower and sometimes zero. Refundy sells cashback, so this works against its own interest. Check the rate for your listing.
- Not a trust badge. Choice tells you about delivery and returns. Read the reviews and the store record as you would for any item.

The maths is simple. Add the item price and shipping for the Choice listing, do the same for the non-Choice listing, then add any import charges. Ask whether the difference is worth the faster delivery and easier return.

- Compare with a non-Choice listing of the same product for price, delivery time and returns.
- Set your ship-to country before you shop, because Choice benefits and coupons depend on it.
